Other than that you have to pay attention of course. Eyepatch gives a damage bonus which will help you chew through its health and the slippers increase your speed so you can actually get somewhere safe before the spider murders you.īoth are made from resources that are plentiful and easily available in the starting area. Try to craft an eyepatch and aphid slippers ASAP. It's early access, some bugs are expected. Or glitch out, in which case you can just throw pebble spears at it and be happy for free endgame resources. If you can't manage perfect blocks you can also get up on something (rock, twigs, whatever) and just throw a pebble/spear or shoot an arrow at it and it'll run away and leave you alone for a while. you can 5 or 6 orb weavers with just 10-15 arrows because they are close to each other. just jump ontop of the wodden logs and shoot gas arrows at them. you can actually kill the orb weacers the same way. they wont come to you because you are on the branches and they can not reach you. that worked for me, i just need 20 arrows in my very first run to kill 2 of the spiders inside the hole under the tree and 10 arrows to kill the roaming one. if you killed atleast 2, you can craft the tier 2 bow and poison arrows that deal more damage over time than the gas arrow but dont release a cloud so you need to hit the target directly. you dont even need to hit the arrow they will just die to the gas damage. i takes about 15-20 arrows to kill a wolf spider. the gas covers a really big area so you should hit them if you aim right. because they are so far away but still get the aggro from you they just stand still (sometimes the walk away but you can shoot arrows in the corner. it will aggro the wolf spiders if you shoot it in the middle of the hole but they wont come to you because they are far away. from there you should eventually see the wolf spiders. they are near the east entrance of the tree, near the entrance of the laboratory. go to the big roots with the leafs ontop. there is always 1 wolf spider that walks around. right now it appears that gas arrows stack so if you shoot multiple onto a spider the gas damage ticks for each arrow. to kill them in a good and harmless way is the following. but you can actually beat them rather easy and after you killed some of them you can craft really good equipment. Wolf spiders however are supposed to be the toughest enemies right now. right now i did not experience any larva raid except for the one that happens after i build my very first base without clay. clay foundations are way better because they are more durable and you can actually stack these foundations. sometimes there are wolf spiders but not really often. there are some clay rocks in the starting area but you can get alot of them near the little ponds in the north west of the map. dunno if the larva raids are bugged right now but sometimes a group of them come to your base and start to destroy it. there you can put down your chests and avoid the ant bug. it is a bit bugged right now because ants can even get there if you placed them behind a wall or something so you need to get the floor crafting from the robot and make a second floor. The ants want food that are stored in your chests or baskets and they will get there even if you placed it on a foundation. Problem right now is that smaller insects like ants and the larvas can bug under the foundation. The very first foundation you can craft requires wood stems that you can get from dandelion. So building a base there is a good way to start. So far spiders avoid the starting area with the mytserios device. There are a few things that you need to know before building a base.
